You are:

An Enthusiastic, hands-on Leader who will be part of the Hybrid Cloud Services & Engineering group to help lead the Site Reliability Engineering teams.

As a SRE Manager will help Pitney Bowes to develop, organize and mentor a highly skilled SRE team able to help design and support systems and services for private and public cloud platforms.

Through partnership with Cloud Architecture teams, Business teams and Project management, the SRE management will ensure requirements and priorities are set and help infuse an Agile and DevSecOps culture within the team.

The SRE manager will work with our various teams to implement highly scalable, flexible, resilient, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions in a highly automated approach.

Through partnership with cloud architecture teams the SRE manager will also help internal groups adopt advanced cloud-based solutions and migrate existing workloads to the cloud.

In this role, the SRE manager will have the opportunity to help shape and execute strategy across a broad use of various cloud technologies for wide range of applications.

The ideal candidate should possess an in-depth knowledge in public cloud hosting and breadth of technical knowledge in application development, performance, and automation. He/she should have experience leading a technical team in a complex, evolutive environment and have a service first mentality.

This global role and the position reports directly to the Director of Hybrid Cloud Services & Engineering within the global IT organization.

You will:

  • Help lead the transformation to a modern Site Reliability Engineering culture at Pitney Bowes by leveraging the latest cutting-edge technologies and methodologies.

  • Embed into SRE projects and on-call rotations to keep your skills sharp and stay close to the operational workflows and issue

  • Ensure SRE team stay highly efficient by following best practices of DevSecOps and an automation first mentality.

  • Define and monitor the team SLA and ensure the service provided to other department is flawless.

  • Mentor the team, identify knowledge gaps and strategies to fill them.

  • Maintain overall industry knowledge on latest trends, technology, etc.

  • Drive AWS adoption and assist in migrating On Premise workloads by bringing the latest SRE practices to Pitney Bowes across multiple teams

  • Enhance our next generation cloud driving our goal of designing and implementing an always-available architecture

  • Work with AWS, Kubernetes, Source Code Management, CI/CD, Repository management tools, Monitoring and Logging tools, Escalation tools and AWS Services..

  • Optimizing cloud cost models, network topology, platform services, and common storage options

Your background:

As a SRE Manager, you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline, or equivalent experience

  • Strong Experience with Agile Scrum Methodology and DevSecOps principles, both using and implementing it.

  • Experience with leading a small group of highly technical engineers.

  • Strong hands-on experience and architecture with AWS.

  • Kubernetes/Container experience (Open Shift a big plus)

  • Hands-on experience with automation using Ansible, Python, and Terraform

  • Excellent troubleshooting, follow-through and problem-solving skills, attention to detail.

  • Great communication skills.

Commerce Services is comprised of the company’s technology-enabled ecommerce and logistics businesses, including presort services, fulfillment, delivery and returns services. The Commerce Services business unit plays a critical role in the Pitney Bowes transformation strategy, serving more than 3,000 clients, including more than 600 retailers and online marketplaces. In 2019, the business unit accounted for more than $1.5 billion in annual revenue, processing more than 17 billion pieces of letter mail and 140 million parcels. Our digital technology enabled the delivery of another 400 million parcels.

☐Sending Technology Solutions (formally SMB)

Our Sending Technology Solutions business provides innovative mailing and shipping solutions that enable small and medium businesses to simplify their sending operations and deliver greater value to their customers. Our mailing and shipping technology support more than one million businesses, from addressing and postage evidencing to multi-carrier parcel shipping and payments.

☐Financial Services

Within our Financial Services team, we provide a full range of financial product offerings primarily for Pitney Bowes’ Global SMB clients. These offerings include leasing, revolving lines of credit (Purchase Power), postage deposit accounts at the PB Bank, and Payment API’s in support of our 1+ million SMB and Global ecommerce customers.
