Job Description:

For over 40 years Pitney Bowes has had a vibrant Financial Services and captive financing business operation. This highly coveted product leadership role is responsible for the captive financing line of business, a critical component of Financial Services and Pitney Bowes. As a Director of Captive Equipment Leasing, you will be a strategic leader of the team responsible for delivering the financial outcomes associated with a $800MM global leasing portfolio guiding the organization to maximize earnings and cashflow while improving the company’s balance sheet. The role is responsible for the oversight of operational and financial performance of products and services offered through the captive leasing segment of the business.

Location: Tampa, Fl preferred but other office locations may be a potential.

You will use your extensive market knowledge of equipment finance and lease / loan accounting to design financial programs (offers / solutions) that enable sales while ensuring the appropriate controllership and compliance environment to deliver sustainable business operations. You will be accountable for overseeing the appropriate key performance metrics, assessing risk, and monitoring / implementing operational controls to ensure that captive leasing products and services perform within expected parameters. You will also work cross-functionally across the business and enterprise to drive necessary business model changes to maintain compliance with market regulations, compliance standards, and laws. You will ensure implementation of effective portfolio management strategies to deliver consistent loss performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the go to market strategy for captive financing products.

  • Develop and implement targeted equipment financing programs to increase sales, maximizing client conversion / retention rates, and margins.

  • Oversee transactional structuring ensuring compliance with GAAP and other regulatory, legal, and compliance requirements

  • Actively develop and/or approve modifications to captive equipment lease and loan contracts, RFPs, term sheets, and requests for quotes.

  • Lead pricing and portfolio profitability analysis and actions

  • Own exception transaction pricing process and approvals to win profitable business.

  • Partner with PB Bank to maximize the Bank funding of captive financing transactions

  • Manage cost productivity, identifying operational efficiencies to improve operating expense and maximize pre-tax earnings.

  • Partner with accounting to manage residual value exposure and treatment to improve current and future financial outcomes

  • Direct and oversee captive financing system related modifications including but not limited to developing and implementing pricing program updates and maintaining system integrity on all structure and rate tables.

  • Work cross functionally to continually maintain the accuracy of the booked portfolio to improve customer satisfaction and ensure the timely and precise invoicing of all finance contracts.

  • Own operational controllership for the product portfolio ensuring that product management processes, policies, and KPIs are met.

  • Establish policies and procedures that ensure compliance with required regulations. Ensure all processes and procedures meet SOX, compliance and other industry best practice standards.

  • Challenge status quo and drive reporting automation, innovation, and operational improvement, simplification, and optimization.

  • Drive the financial outcomes setting and executing strategies related to new business volume, business mix, lease penetration, client retention, product yield, asset levels (NEAs / NFRs), delinquency, and charge-offs.

  • Mitigate risk and address issues resulting in negative financial performance.

  • Communicate projects, progress and results via presentations to Senior Management.

Team Leadership:

  • Actively lead the Captive Leasing team, building and developing a strong organization. Design and implement a talent management strategy to deepen capacity, operational skill set, and succession capability.

  • Maintain and nurture a culture accountable to strong operational and risk management.

  • Collaborate with senior leaders in stakeholder business groups to foster positive working relationships and synthesize regional requirements and priorities.

  • Partner with Financial Services front-, middle, and back-office leadership to establish, build, implement, and drive strategies to enhance financial outcomes, drive growth, and deliver value.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of leasing and finance experience and leadership with in-depth knowledge of all aspects of the equipment leasing and finance business.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or Marketing. MBA a plus.

  • Proven success in building and leading high-performing teams

  • Strong problem-solving skills that translate to effective recommendations aligned to the broader business growth strategy and continued profitability

  • Solid understanding of Lease Accounting principles.

  • Strong business and financial acumen to maximize P&L performance within a financial organization while minimizing portfolio losses.

  • Highly articulate with the ability to lead and influence across levels and functions. Executive presence with higher levels and outside entities.

  • Critical thinking with a proven ability to work through complex problems.

  • Strategic and forward-thinking mindset with the analytical capability to turn data into industry-based insights and strategy.

  • Operates with highest level of personal and professional integrity.
