Job Description:

As a Database Administrator at Pitney Bowes, you thrive on supporting databases for revenue generating enterprise and customer facing applications. You need to be able to deliver towards support and innovation needs with precision, working with latest SQL Server (MSSQL) and Snowflake hosted on-prem and on AWS. The expectation is for this position to also learn new technologies such as Microsoft Engineered Systems and Appliances e.g. APS. You must be able to see opportunities where others see challenges.

In this role, you will join our Global Database and Tech Architecture team and report to Manager of the Global Database and Tech Arch team. You will be responsible for the following functions:

Responsibilities

· Perform daily MSSQL and Snowflake database administration tasks including monitoring, troubleshooting, and remediation activities

· Working knowledge on SSIS and SSRS

· Plan and implement ongoing monthly and quarterly maintenance activities including patching cycles, upgrade cycles, security and auditing cycles

· Application deployments on multi sites and work closely with development team for quick turn around

· Provide innovative leadership for ongoing daily and monthly activities including database maintenance, performance tuning, parameter tuning

· Maintaining and contributing to internal team-knowledge documents/runbooks and SMTD

· Communicate clearly in coordinating with infra IT teams to troubleshoot issues, or to perform builds, deployments.

· Perform pre-production refreshes using both native MSSQL, Druva and EMC Networker\Data Domain technologies

· Ability to work in a in a global team, interacting/coordinating with colleagues across the world to ensure highest levels of service. Must be willing to assume on-call support as needed on off business hours and weekends.

· Mentor junior level DBA's on operational activities, administration, performance tuning issues

· Datacenter Migration, Virtualization, cloud and upgrades

· Automation of daily manual process

· Should be able to handle multiple DR activities for various critical applications
