A knowledgeable firmware engineer who possess the desire to develop a detailed knowledge of our current systems in order to support sustaining activities, such as field escalations and product enhancements, along with new product development opportunities
Work with the current Distinguished Engineer responsible for maintaining and developing the Mail Creation and Mail Finishing product lines. These include the table-top and console inserters along with the legacy and current Mailing system products.
You will also be collaborating closely and working with the other Core Mailing product support teams such as Software, Electrical, Mechanical, Systems and Test engineers. They will also interface with external functions such as Service, Procurement, Product Supply, User Experience, and Line of Business to develop solutions and products that meet our clients’ needs
Proficient in C and C++ and how the code is structured in an embedded environment.
Have a strong working knowledge of various real-time multitasking Operating Systems.
Strong debugging and system integration skills.
A working knowledge of Renesas H8 family of MCUs is a plus.
Strong background and hands on experience coding and tuning precision motion control sub-systems.
Experience designing, writing and debugging USB drivers in addition to designing and implementing firmware to be used on USB based peripherals.
You must have hands on experience working with Integrated development environments such as Renesas E2Studio and STM32CubeIDE.
The candidate must have the ability to analyze system level failures and achieving a reliable resolution of an issue. In some cases, where little design documentation is available to support the system under analysis.
Knowledge of Protocol Standards for Wired and/or Wireless Communications
Ability to write detailed design documentation, conduct design review meetings
The candidate must have strong interpersonal skills and can communicate clearly with team members and clients.
Familiar with source controls tools such as Git.
