Job Description:

You Are:

The person in this role has strong technical knowledge and is skilled in applying procedures, policies, and methodologies. A strong ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work-independently in an extremely fast paced, high pressure environment with minimal supervision. You have comprehensive experience in troubleshooting complex network issues to determine root cause and ability to handle escalated issues that Network Operations Team shift personnel are unable to resolve. You bring a detailed knowledge of network operation concepts and best practices. You have the ability to perform troubleshooting methodology and analyze network issues using tools such as packet captures and session flow tools.

  • Detailed knowledge of the following technologies:

  • Cisco, Arista, Aruba, HPE Platforms.

  • Routing Protocols and ability to resolve routing issues (OSPF, ISIS, BGP).

  • LAN/WAN/MAN technologies.

  • SDwan technology with experience in CloudGenX.

  • Understanding of DNS/Bind, and Infoblox platform.

  • Load Balancer systems – specifically F5 and Netscaler.

  • Network monitoring platforms such as LogicMonitor, Solarwinds, NNMi, Netscout, Etc.

  • Wireless networking (Cisco/Aruba)

  • Security technologies (IDS/IPS, Fortinet, Cisco/Zscaler/Palo Alto Firewalls, VPN, NAC)

  • Virtualization technologies, Public Cloud providers (e.g. Amazon AWS/Azure)

  • Well-developed and proven skills in organization of an operations center and client engagement.

  • Excellent customer service principles and practices.

  • Possess strong analytical skills to identify incident trends that enable process improvements

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential

  • Demonstrated continuous improvement skills

You Will:

  • Provide oversight for the day-to-day overall operation and processes of the global production network, including vulnerability management and audit response to ensure a high quality, high performance, secure infrastructure guaranteeing service availability.

  • Develop and enhance policies, workflows, procedures based on an industry standard framework (ITILv3) including defining measurable goals, standards and other process measures (KPIs).

  • Act as a technical point of escalation for production issues for the Pitney Bowes Network Operations Team.

  • Identify innovative opportunities for automation, cost savings, and business improvement.

  • Identify and define opportunities for process improvement, network processes and procedures and continuously improves and develops systems to proactively monitor the supported infrastructure.

  • Lead and coordinate operational and break-fix maintenance activities.

  • Utilize fault management and change tracking systems including MF NMNI and BMC Remedy.

  • Support changes to the production network while following all required change procedures.

  • Review production changes for adherence against agreed policy and best practices.

  • Be responsible for managing various service providers and third-party vendors to ensure they deliver contracted services.

  • Manage technology deployment projects to ensure that the delivery is on-time, within budget and meets client business change requirements.

  • Provide documentation and communication to peers, subordinates, and senior management for status, coordination, objectives, and performance.

  • Support and mentor engineers as required. Identify areas for personal development and assists them with technical development plans.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Your Background:

  • Bachelors or Equivalent in Information Systems or Other Technology

  • Ten or more years of experience in the Information Technology field and five or more years working in a fast-paced operations center environment

  • 3+ years of relevant technical experience in network implementation of LAN and WAN solutions.

  • 2+ years of management experience in an Infrastructure and Operations environment

  • Prior NOC management experience

  • Prior Supervisory experience

Preferred:

  • ITIL Foundation Certificate or equivalent knowledge is preferred

  • CISCO CCNA or CCNP Certifications is preferred
