You are:

A seasoned bank controller who can share in and embrace the Bank’s vision for the future. You are a Results-driven team player who will apply your technical skills and oversight capabilities to drive the Bank’s objectives.

You will:

  • Under the direction of the CFO, direct the Bank’s accounting department, staff and financial policies.

  • Close the financial records on a timely basis and comply with all monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements.

  • Prepare regular financial statements, regulatory filings, and confirm accuracy.

  • Prepare the Bank’s annual financial statements with accompanying disclosures.

  • Ensure regulatory reporting is accurate and timely, including the Call Report.

  • Establish and maintain appropriate internal controls, including SOX compliance.

  • Operate the accounting functions of the Bank in a tightly controlled and efficient manner ensuring all processes and documentation procedures are followed and maintained.

  • Act as main point of contact for audits and examinations.

  • Coordinate reporting and settlement activities with the Finance, Treasury and Corporate functions.

  • Oversee numerous processes, including informational reporting and budget tracking.

  • Present regular reports and analyses to internal and external constituents, including senior management, Board of Directors and committees, parent company executives, regulatory supervisors, auditors, etc.

  • Actively participate in the community and promote the Bank’s CRA program.

Your background:

As a Controller, you have:

  • 10+ years of direct bank controllership functional experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, with major work in accounting and finance.

  • Advanced degree and CPA certification (or candidate).

  • 3+ years Financial and regulatory reporting experience for a regulated bank.

  • Working knowledge of best practices, accounting rules, relevant regulatory provisions, and policy statements

  • Ability to read and understand policies and procedures and translate them into a framework that meets control requirements yet maximizes efficiency and performance.

  • Deep understanding of Bank balance sheet management principles, practices, and strategy

  • Understanding of accounting treatment for various products and activities including loans, leases, portfolio acquisitions, and capitalization of projects and development initiatives.

  • Experience using advanced Microsoft products, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Qualifications

  • Senior level financial management experience at a regulated financial institution.

  • Detail-orientation with mentoring style and ability to delegate when appropriate.

  • Ability to work independently and under short time constraints.

  • Knowledge, skills and experience researching, analyzing, and reporting.

  • Effective writing and verbal communications skills, including an ability to listen and articulate complex concepts in a manner that is audience-appropriate.

  • Team-orientation.

  • Demonstrated flexibility, dependability, and adaptability to a changing work environment.

  • Strong problem-solving skills.
