Job Description:

Responsibilities

With minimal guidance:

  • Apply established analytical rigor and statistical methods to analyze large amounts of data, using advanced statistical techniques and mathematical analyses

  • Actively curate customer related information into structured domains for rapid analytical prototyping

  • Assist in the development and execution of new machine learning algorithms and statistical predictive models and determine analytical approaches using common tools (e.g. Python, Jupyterhub, Sanborn, SciPy, Scikit-Learn, Pandas, NumPy, Gurobi, TensorFlow, etc…)

  • Embrace a measurable and repeatable analytics delivery model with proven industry methodologies (e.g. Agile Scrum/Kanban, CRISP-DM) and supporting tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence, Teams, Gitlab, SageMaker)

  • Encourage team members to probe into technical details that leverage your unique experiences

  • Applying various consultative techniques you will provide guidance to crafting and updating Pitney Bowes enterprise-wide analytics strategy and roadmap in the areas you are assigned to

  • Leveraging visualization tools (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau, Dash, etc…) and storytelling you will interact with internal and external peers and stakeholders to share highly complex information/solutions related to areas of expertise and/or to gain acceptance of new or enhanced technology/ business solutions

  • Deliver systematic approaches, integrating work into applications and tools with our cross-functional teams of data engineers, product managers, design teams, business stakeholders, analysts, operational managers, developers and engineers?

  • Demonstrated ability to both synthesize data & analytical results and communicate technical ideas & results to non-technical clients in written, visual and verbal forms

Qualifications

  • One of the following: B.S. in Computer Science, Data Science, Operations Research, Mathematics or Statistics or a related field

  • Advanced Degree (MA/MS, Ph.D) in Computer Science, Operations Research, Data Science, Mathematics or Statistics or a related field

  • 4+ years of experience in advanced analytical domain

  • Working knowledge of the tools/technologies such as:

  • Business Intelligence and Visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, PowerBI, ThoughtSpot)

  • Visualization Libraries: (Matplotlib, Seaborn, ggplot, Bokeh, Plotly, Geoplotlib)

  • Able to lead and adapt to changing priorities

  • Highly collaborative, flexible, and communicative

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Self-motivated

Must have

  • Experience in using advanced statistical modeling techniques, including creating and deploying machine learning models

  • Proficiency in SQL, Python and/or R languages

  • Past exposure to client and marketing analytics

  • Previous capstone and/or projects related to these areas is a significant plus

  • Experience using common data platform tools like AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud

  • Ability to construct stories from insights with corporate and 3rd party data sources

  • Experience with or willingness to learn the following tools that are commonly used at Pitney Bowes:

  • Business Intelligence and Visualization tools (e.g Power Bi, ThoughtSpot, Streamlit, Plotly);

  • Databases (Snowflake, AWS s3, RDS, Redshift, Neo4J)

  • CRM tools (Salesforce, Adobe Analytics).

Good to have

  • Familiarity with project management tools such as : GitLab, Jira, Confluence, Teams

  • Comfortable presenting recommendations to colleagues and stakeholders

  • Experience in coaching junior members
