Job Description:

You are:

An innovative and ambitious Engineer who manages project implementations and collaborative work with cross-function teams. The team of engineers execute on complex cross-functional projects and programs that focus on the building of new facilities, upgrading of existing facilities and systems, improvement of existing processes, continuous improvement initiatives, and cost savings initiatives. You will be responsible for overall execution strategy to meet long-term business needs. You have a strategic focus and will interface extensively with operations leaders, product managers, technology, sales, and strategy leaders to deliver the long-term strategy for Pitney Bowes.

You will:

  • Manage automation project installations/implementations throughout the Network.

  • Establish field test methods and methods for monitoring the quality of the automation implementation.

  • Design the requirements and work with BI and data analysis team to develop reporting and new dashboards to ensure productivity, quality and operational KPIs are tracked and monitored. Providing analysis to ensure optimum ROIs are achieved.

  • Review PLC control flow of equipment

  • Monitor uptime & downtime metrics

  • Oversee quality control tasks on budgets, schedules, plans, and personnel performance and reporting on the project's status.

  • Cooperate and communicate with the project engineering manager and other project participants

  • Work with vendor/integrator to create more efficient project methods and to guarantee the project's profitability and success.

  • Work with operations/organization teams through the implementation and post implementation of automation projects.

  • Validate automation design and initiate the necessary corrective actions with internal and vendor/integrator teams.

  • Follow-up on pending issues with vendors/integrators and ensure corrective actions are completed.

  • Work with team to provide ongoing support to run the automation in an optimized manner.

  • Responsible for working with vendors, real estate, project management, technology, strategy on multiple simultaneous projects including automation, new building designs, new building launches, system enhancement and cost saving initiatives.

  • Subject matter expert on warehouse systems and how they drive core operational functions. You will understand how stakeholders (clients, end-customers, internal users, etc.) leverage these systems to create outstanding customer experiences.

As Automation Engineer , you have:

  • Minimum 1-3 years’ experience in implementing automation projects

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field required

  • Broad knowledge of electrical controls engineering, including electrical codes

  • Experience with robotics, conveyors, sortation systems, and other automated material handling equipment

  • Experience with AC and DC drive systems, like PowerFlex, Altivar, and Sinamics is preferred

  • Experience with HMI design and implementation tools like FactoryTalk View, Wonderware InTouch, and Ignition HMI packages preferred

  • Experience in PLC control networks, Ethernet/IP, ControlNet, Profinet, Profibus, etc.

  • Strong sense of urgency and the ability to embrace and maximize a changing landscape

  • Excels in an innovative and collaborative environment

  • Extensive process knowledge, planning abilities, problem solving, and organizational skills

  • Builds strong interpersonal relationships and motivates cross functional teams to operate in a cohesive manner

  • Quantitative expertise in conducting business analysis, utilizing economics, financial statements, and statistics

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and analytical skills
