Job Description:

In this role you will serve as the subject matter expert on all matters related to Supplier Diversity which encompasses the inclusion and use of certified Minority, Woman, LGBT, Service-Disabled Veteran and Person with Disability Owned and Small Business Enterprises not only to comply with our PB (Pitney Bowes) Government/State Clients, but to boost quality, brand, market share within program objectives while driving Economic Impact in the communities where we live and serve.

Interaction includes, but is not limited to, all levels of leadership within the company as well as senior officials from local, state, and federal government agencies; outsourced vendors; auditors; regulators; industry trade groups.

Key Accountabilities

This position is the primary lead for the ongoing development and maintenance of the Pitney Bowes Supplier Diversity Program. Reporting within the Enterprise Procurement organization, this position will have the following accountabilities:

  • Represent the company as a Subject Matter Expert at various Economic Inclusion and Supplier Diversity outreach events, building rapport and establishing relationships with key external partners such as State and Federal Minority Business Offices, NMSDC, WBENC, NaVOBA, USHCC, USPAACC, USBLN, NGLCC, etc. Travel Required.

  • Collaborate with procurement operations resource(s) to ensure the finance-led quarterly reporting is accurate and in accordance with guidelines specified by the appropriate government regulations.

  • Work with finance to prepare annual filings necessary to maintain sourcing plans for all Government and Commercial reporting obligations.

  • Collaborate with business unit stakeholders as well as procurement professionals to set and monitor targets in all diversity categories.

  • Monitor all strategic sourcing exercises to ensure diverse suppliers are included and/or justifications for non-inclusion/award are properly documented.

  • Maintain schedule of diverse supplier events, coordinate participation with appropriate Pitney Bowes stakeholders and maintain records of participation per contractual obligations from our clients.

  • Maintain supplier diversity budget including all associated programs, fees, and travel; provide recommendations for upcoming budget year.

  • Liaison between diverse suppliers and PB teams.

  • Collaborate with the Procurement Team to identify opportunities for diverse suppliers including working to identify strategic categories of highest opportunity.

  • Represent Pitney Bowes at various supplier diversity events (in person and/or virtual).

  • Ensure training (and refresher training) is up to date for the supplier diversity program and the required employees have successfully been trained (annually / documented).

  • Engage with the PB Sales and RFP Center of Excellence team to ensure that prospective client requirements are aligned with PB’s supplier diversity program policies.

Qualifications

  • 5-10 years' experience in supplier diversity programs in a Fortune 500 company, preferably in a global organization, with a clear record of success and achievement.

  • In-depth knowledge of procurement/sourcing principles and processes and ability to conduct detailed financial analyses.

  • Experience with reporting and analytics tools and reporting software related to supplier diversity spending a plus.

  • Domain expertise in global regulations and policies regarding supplier diversity including experience working with the General Services Administration, Small Business Administration, associated agencies, and their associated Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) clauses to progress supplier diversity programs.

  • Demonstrate understanding of Pitney Bowes contract management process, terms and conditions, and corporate policies.

  • Experience in managing internal stakeholders and a record of success in supplier diversity and change management.

  • Able to analyze various strategic options and their direct potential and indirect impact on the organization.

  • Must be a “roll up the sleeves” individual contributor, capable of motivating and energizing stakeholders.

  • Must be a highly effective communicator, both verbally and in writing.

  • Must have both excellent one on one and large audience/presentation skills.

  • Must be a team player, with courage of conviction. Must be able to partner effectively with the key leadership across PB.

  • Must be a fact-based decision maker.

  • Must be comfortable with ambiguity, a self-starter.

  • Must operate independently and be able to drive a project to success with little oversight.

  • Willingness to travel as needed (approx. up to 6 times/year).

Education

Appropriate Bachelor's degree in business or related area is required. MBA preferred.
