Job Description:

This position is a 10 week internship program that will start June 5th through August 11th. This position will be located in Irving, TX with some travel. The wage range for this position is $20 to $25 with the actual pay dependent on your skills and experience as they relate to the job requirements and the location where you will be performing the job.

You are:

You will:

  • Work with a team and as an individual to complete data collection and analysis activities across multiple business unit warehouse operations within the Global Ecommerce (“GEC”) network.

  • Help identify and prioritize opportunities for process improvement within warehouse operations using a lean approach and continuous improvement mindset.

  • Professionally interact with all levels of associate and management at each site visited, listening and learning in every interaction.

  • Effectively communicate with lead engineer, project team, and vendor to ensure work is delivered on time and with a high level of accuracy.

  • Work closely with operations management and other warehouse teams to understand pain points, schedule observation work, and provide feedback all while learning about the GEC business.

Your background:

Our selection process is therefore focused on the highest quality candidates that demonstrate a rigorous academic curriculum as well as having established themselves with authentic projects pursued in and outside the classroom. As a Workforce Optimization Intern, you have the following background and skills:

  • A junior or senior in college pursuing a B.S. in Industrial Engineering

  • Results-driven, perform well under pressure and can successfully prioritize and work against deadlines

  • Team player mindset and willing to work collaboratively alongside peers

  • High standard of quality and attention to detail

  • Strong analytical skills using MS Excel or other analytical software

  • Excellent active listening skills and open to various points of view

  • Effective written and verbal communication

  • You are committed to excellence in your work and maintain high professional and ethical standards to: “Do the Right Thing, The Right Way.”

Preferred

  • Exposure or understanding of: MOST, stopwatch time study, and other Engineered Labor Standard development methodologies
