Job Description:

Responsibilities:

  • Identify opportunities through data analytics to drive final mile cost and cycle time improvement; create mathematical models (eg, optimization, simulation, forecasting) to cycle time and cost metrics

  • Understand the broader Pitney Bowes company strategy, translate it into requirements for the Final Mile network, and develop short/mid/long-term roadmaps to align with company objectives

  • Assist with the preparation of operating plans, as well as sensitive analyses to quantify opportunities and risks (what-if scenarios)

  • Measure cost and performance of final mile network to ensure budget and SLA is being met and identify opportunities to improve cost and service

  • Partner with Technology, Operations, Transportation, Product Management, BI and Finance to streamline both physical and digital aspects of the delivery and returns

  • Utilize statistical modeling techniques and database analysis to define and monitor measures that will align performance with business objectives

  • Analyze all elements of parcel data and develop useful insight tools to allow for accurate and proactive measurement and management of final mile performance and cycle time

  • Support make/buy analysis on alternate delivery solutions

Qualifications

As a Network Manager, Final Mile, you have:

  • A results-driven contributor who can successfully combine strong Supply Chain/Transportation industry experience (domestic and cross-border) and extensive training in mathematical modeling and data analytics to solve complex problems in Operations

  • Bachelor’s degree in Transportation/Logistics/Industrial Engineering/Operations Research or related field required

  • Extensive knowledge of E-commerce industry, with particular emphasis on supply chain and operations

  • 3-4 years of experience with demonstrated Mathematical Modeling/Optimization/Network Design in Transportation/Logistics/Industrial Engineering/Operations Research or related field

  • Proven experience as a data analyst or business data analyst with preference in the general area of Logistics/Supply Chain

  • Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques and programming (such as R, Python) and strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, and analyze significant amounts of information with database (such as T-SQL) and business analytics tools (such as Tableau or PowerBI)

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills

  • Self-directed, with strong attention to detail and focus on solution design

  • Ability to deal with changing conditions and respond to customer requirements with a strong sense of urgency

  • Excellent written / oral communication skills to present findings, make recommendations, and drive change through others Preferred

  • Experience with Postal/zone skipping industry Preferred

Strong problem solving and analytical skills including statistical concepts (such as Six Sigma or Lean principles)
