Job Description:

You are:

Performance driven individual who is committed to provide innovative service to our clients and internal stakeholders. You are approachable and relationship oriented as you contribute to Pitney Bowes success.

You will:

Direct the work of our Fleet Asset Management department, which includes rolling stock of various sizes (Sprinter Vans, straight trucks, Class 8 trucks, trailer pools, etc.)

  • Ensure Pitney Bowes vehicles and equipment are maintained in a safe and dependable state, while delivering high levels of availability and up-time. Also, ensure vehicle regulatory DOT and environmental compliance.

  • Work with internal stakeholders to ensure Fleet is meeting the needs our customers, both now and in the future.

  • Work with local management teams to ensure Fleet assets are tracked, positioned where they are needed, and seek to drive high levels of asset utilization.

  • Develop new supplier relationships that allow us to reduce expenses, shorten equipment lead times, and increase our flexibility to scale both up and down quickly.

  • Responsible for managing the Fleet Support Staff and associated functions.

  • Effectively communicate, coach, and achieve Company and Fleet goals and results both internally and externally.

Direct and supervise the day-to-day operation of the Transportation Safety & Compliance Team and support all transportation safety and compliance functions across our trucking operations.

  • Take a continuous improvement approach to safety and compliance performance.

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state and local legislation and codes governing environmental health and safety related to the Fleet transportation operations.

  • Serve as the Pitney Bowes thought leader on changes to domestic transportation safety and compliance regulations, leveraging existing internal tools (Samsara Safety Suite) and external data to report on statistics and PB’s performance relative to the greater transportation industry.

  • Ensure that incident investigations are conducted and documented, corrective actions implemented, and policies and procedures developed to mitigate recurrence.

  • Assist in the adoption of tools and systems to help deliver a safer transportation organization.

  • Participate in Driver Safety and Engagement Council, steering safety-related projects and programs.

Direct and supervise the Driver Training Program across our national network of Fleet drivers.

  • Work with the National Training Manager and their regional training specialists to ensure all new hires are completing onboarding and the initial driver road test.

  • Evolve and enhance existing training programs to improve the level of driver training while also getting drivers on the road sooner.

  • Participate in monthly training meetings and quarterly driver safety meetings.

  • Ensure post incident training modules for drivers are completed on-time and satisfactory.

  • Coordinate with Leasing companies as new vehicles are introduced to conduct initial training on new

  • Develop a Driver Advancement Program and grow awareness throughout the organization.

  • Build upon central repository for training documentation.

  • Create a global platform to track and identify high risk drivers, re-training of drivers on probationary status.

As a Transportation Manager, you have:

  • 10+ years in Supply Chain / Logistics Management.

  • 3+ years experience in each of Fleet Asset Management, Safety, DOT Compliance, and Training.

  • Strong organization skills and proven ability to “level up” key departments.

  • Self starter with a keen eye for improvement opportunities and the ability to deliver results quickly.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Conducts themselves with a high level of integrity, putting safety of our drivers above all else.

  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office Suite experience, especially in Excel, Word, and Powerpoint.

  • Advanced knowledge of key transportation systems such as Samsara, Idelic, TMS, TMS, etc.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Management, or equivalent experience.
